Buying guide · Answer

What are the best supplement shops in Cape Town?

Cape Town shoppers can buy supplements from national chains (Dis-Chem, Clicks, Wellness Warehouse, Sportsmans Warehouse), from online specialists such as Faithful to Nature, and directly from brand shops. We did not verify individual store stock or addresses, so use the chains' store locators and judge any shop by its range, labelling and price per dose.

Is there one best shop?

No. The best shop depends on what you buy. This answer lists the retailer types our October 2026 research verified, without ranking them. We did not visit individual Cape Town stores or check local stock, so use each retailer's store locator and call ahead for specific products.

How should you judge a Cape Town supplement shop?

  1. Range and transparency. Can staff show you the nutrition table and tell you whether a product is a blend, concentrate or isolate?
  2. Provenance. Local importer address, batch number and sealed packs.
  3. Prices per dose. Convert to R per 30 g protein or R per 5 g creatine; see how to compare supplement prices.
  4. Honest advice. Staff are not dietitians. If a salesperson recommends a stack, a fat burner or a "testosterone booster", ask for the evidence; read can you trust gym shop advice.
  5. Storage. Cape Town summers are hot and dry; tubs stored in a sunny shop window deserve a second look. See how to store supplements in South African heat.

Are there price examples?

As of October 2026: Nutritech Creatine Monohydrate 300 g is R250 at Clicks (R4.17 per 5 g), and Nutritech Heavy Duty Whey 908 g is R329 at Clicks, the cheapest branded 908 g whey in a national chain that we found apart from Black Bull. USN BlueLab Whey 1 kg is R689 at the USN shop.

What about buying online from Cape Town?

Most retailers deliver nationally. For specific products, see where to buy whey in Cape Town and where to buy creatine in Cape Town.
